Alison Svoboda is British. She was born in London, attended the Lycée Français de Londres.
Severe childhood health problems led her to drawing and painting since as far back as she can remember. After school, she graduated from London University with a degree in Japanese.
In Japanese thought and religion, she recognized what would become her most important influence. She attended university in Tokyo during a sabbatical year.
She moved to France in 1975 where she began to research a number of art forms besides painting, namely theatre in all its aspects and voice which she has evolved up to this day simultaneosuly with the painting all of which would form the content of a future web-site.
For two consecutive years, 1980 and 1981, she had personal shows at the Galerie Obliques, 75004 Paris .
From 1982 to 1984 she partook in group shows and had several private exhibitions in Paris and London. In 1986 and 1987 there were two consecutive years of exhibitions at the Galerie Hérouet , 75004 Paris.
Alison exhibited for two consecutive years in southern Italy at the gallery Arena in Naples in 1988 and 1989.
On her return in 1990 she gave a first exhibition of her new ‘white ’ paintings at the Galerie Sculptures, 75006 Paris. 1n 1991, Ader, Picard, Tajan, auctioned two paintings at the now Drouot-Richelieu, when Alison thereby became indexed on the French stock market . In the same year, a painting of hers was published in an art book entitled « L’Art Visionnaire » vol. 2 by Michel Random.
From 1990 to 1994 came several group exhibitions such as the Aldredge Gallery, New York, the Osloer Fabrik Kulturzentrum in Berlin, and a personal exhibition at Trachsel’s in Zürich.
She exhibited in Paris in many group events until 2006 when she decided she needed to reflect on the nature of a fundamental ‘whole’ intention .
Subsequently her various areas of research in writing and theatre brought her back to painting
and in 2007 she exhibited at the Galerie Art Cadre in Paris and decided to - create this web-site.
